Dr. Jocelyn Yu

doctor-yuAs a pediatric dentist and a mother, I know that good oral hygiene skills start early! Since 2000 I’ve been helping parents and their little ones start a lifetime of happy, healthy smiles. My philosophy as a pediatric dentist is to provide dental care to children in the same way I would my own children; with compassion and patience, and held to the highest standards possible. I truly enjoy the practice of pediatric dentistry, and I love watching how my patients grow and develop over time into healthy, smiling teens and adults. I look forward to working with you and your little one as you begin this exciting, life changing adventure.

Before starting my career as a pediatric dentist, I received years of educational and hands-on training. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, as well as additional training from a pediatric dental residency and over ten years experience in the United States Army as an active duty dental officer.

Continuing Education

In order to stay on top of the latest technology, and to continue offering my patients and their parents the best care possible, I stay involved in continuing education. I am also a member of the dental staff at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas as a practicing pediatric dentist.

• BS degree from the University of California Davis
• DDS degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1993
• Two-year pediatric dentistry residency in 2000 at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, and have been practicing as a pediatric dentist ever since
• Opened my own office in 2005
• Ten years active duty U.S. Army dental officer
• Currently serving in the U.S. Army Reserves

tdaDental Associations and Special Awards

I am a member of several industry associations, and in my time as a pediatric dentist, I have received several special awards that reflect both my work as a dentist and my dedication to helping others.

• American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
• American Dental Association
• Texas Dental Association
• North Texas Dental Society
• Greater Dallas Pediatric Dental Society
• Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

I have been awarded the Army Commendation Medal with a three-oak-leaf cluster for serving in the U.S. Army, as well as, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge, and the Korea Defense Service Medal.

Even outside of the practice, I stay smiling…

I have lived in Texas since 2003, and I couldn’t ask to be part of a more wonderful community as the one right here in The Colony. I am originally from the Philippines, and I speak Tagalog and Visayan. My husband and I have two amazing children, a daughter and a son. When I am away from the practice, I enjoy spending my time with my family, watching movies, reading, and music.
